LIVE (Ljubljana International Vocal Ensemble) is a vocal ensemble with
singers from all over the world who live in Ljubljana and are passionate about
music and singing. It was founded and is conducted by Juan David Zuleta,
aspiring to build a community of expats and locals, with a unique sound and vision
that reflects the diverse cultures, languages and experiences of those living
in Ljubljana. Formed in October 2020, the choir has been invited to perform in
different locations in Ljubljana, sharing the stage with some local choirs and
bringing choral music to a very diverse audience, from retirement homes to
libraries, to prisons, our passion is to spread joy through music and create a
space of inclusion where everyone feels invited to be.
Juan David Zuleta is a Colombian choir conductor, composer, songwriter
and actor. He studied at the Trento Conservatory in Italy; the Lyon
Conservatory in France; the Sibelius Academy of Music in Helsinki, Finland; and
the Faculty of Arts in Pereira, Colombia. He has conducted the Festival La Via
dei Concerti Choir and Orchestra; the Ensemble Hispanoamericano; the
contemporary music ensemble XXI Rivolto Ensemble; the Castelbarco Choir in Arco
(Italy); and was a guest conductor of the POL University Choir (Helsinki) and
the Calicantus Choir (Italy). In Ljubljana, he worked at the Glasbena Matica
Choir as an assistant conductor for concerts with the Slovenian Philharmonic
Orchestra. He's been a guest singer for the Slovenian Philharmonic Choir. He is
currently an actor and composer at Šentjakobsko Gledališče in Ljubljana.
